Giving Service encourages a sense of Community
Girl Guides in Coonabarabran were busy with various Show activities.
There were a number of entries prepared for the Show by Guides as part of their Unit activities as well as individuals. I saw a number of Guides enter in the art, craft, cakes, vegetables, flower and horse riding sections and I am sure there were more I missed. Well done to all girls who put in entries you are a talented bunch!
The Gumnut Guides raised the flag and formed a Guard of Honour for the Show dignitaries at the start of the Grand Parade on Saturday afternoon. The Colour Party included Lucy, Molly and Jasmine who did a great job on this special occasion. Here is Lucy just prior to the official Colour Party
Sunday morning saw the Waratah Guides, leaders and families arrive to the show grounds at 7am for a major cleanup. This is the Waratah Guides contribution to Clean UP Australia Day. Which was officially held across Australia on March 4th. The Guides collect aluminium cans to raise money for unit activities. If you have aluminium cans to recycle why not let a Guide know or drop them down to the Guide Hall in Edwards Street.
Giving Service encourages a sense of Community. Each year Guides across the world give many hours of practical help in the community to help people in need, improve the environment and to promote a better understanding of the world around them. The Coonabarabran Guides certainly connected with their community over the Show weekend.
